Outline
Business intelligence (BI) tools can help you uncover trends in, or gain insights from the data in your Intellum account. Intellum gives you options for exporting the data in your account to BI tools for data analysis and visualization.
This article gives an overview of the export methods available for your Intellum data to share with a BI tool of choice. We'll cover:
- exporting reports as CSV files
- subscribing to report exports
- syncing report exports to Google Drive
- scheduling report exports to FTP.
Things to Note:
- Exported report data can be subscribed to, synced to Google Drive, or transferred via FTP — as needed — for use in your preferred BI tool.
Exporting data from Intellum requires that you have already created reports that include the data you need for analysis or visualization.
Contact your Customer Success Manager or an Intellum representative to discuss other methods of export, or connection, to BI tools.
Export Reporting Data | Overview
Reporting data in your Intellum account can be exported by .csv, synced to Google Drive, or delivered via FTP transfer for use in a BI tool.
Export as CSV file
The reports you build in the platform can be exported as CSV files from the report page. Once you've created a report, built its query, and confirmed the report's data and column structure, simply click the Export button at the top of the report page.
You'll be prompted to select a file type for report generation. Select Generate report as CSV to export your report. The report will be exported and made available to you as a download that can then be uploaded to a BI tool.
Heads Up!
When you manually export a report, you export a snapshot of the data at the time the report was pulled. To ensure changes in the data are reflected in your BI tool, we recommend you set up a subscription to reports, sync reports with Google Drive, or schedule report transfers via FTP.
Subscribe to reports
Subscribe to a report by setting a recurring delivery option from the report page. Click the Subscribe to This Report link found at the bottom of the page.
You'll be prompted to select how often the report should be delivered. Options include:
- Weekly: Every Sunday
- Every 2 Weeks: Every Other Sunday
- Monthly: First Day of the Month
- Quarterly: First Day of the Quarter
- Bi-Annually: First Day of the First Quarter and Third Quarter
- Yearly: First Day of the Year
The report file will be delivered via email according to the schedule selected and can be uploaded to your BI tool as needed.
The top of the saved report page will now tell you you are subscribed. There's a link there for unsubscribing at any time.
Sync reports to Google Drive
Intellum also allows you to sync a report to Google Drive when you subscribe to a report. BI tools like Google's Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) can be connected to your files in Google Drive for consistent and scheduled, updates of your data.
Follow the steps below to connect to Google Drive through the Integrations tab of your user profile:
- Navigate to My Profile from the user profile menu.
- Select the Integrations tab.
- Find the Google Authentication section and click Authenticate with Google.
Heads Up!
Google Drive sync must be enabled at the account-level before it is available as an option for admin. Contact your Customer Success Manager or an Intellum representative for more information.
When subscribing to a report, enable the Sync this report with Google Drive option and click the Save button.
The report file will be delivered to Google Drive according to the schedule selected - and can be uploaded or connected to your BI tool as needed.

Export Reports to FTP/SFTP
Any report that you build can be exported to FTP/SFTP on a scheduled basis. This type of export may be billable and requires an Intellum technical resource to set up. Contact your Customer Success Manager or an Intellum representative for more information.
The report file will be exported to FTP/SFTP according to the schedule selected and can be uploaded or connected to your BI tool as needed.
