Outline
On January 4, 2024, Google began the rollout of a feature to disable third-party cookies in Chrome. This rollout will disable third-party cookies for 1% of Chrome users in Q1 2024 and will begin ramping up to the remaining 99% of users in Q3 2024. You can read Google’s notes on the change here.
We do not believe that normal operation of the Intellum Platform will be impacted outside of a small number of instances where Social is embedded into Activities. The only other likely impact is if you are embedding our content on an external site. We don’t have full visibility into what content is being embedded externally, nor the content that is being embedded, but if that content is impacted by this change to Chrome, we want to help you resolve the matter as best as we can.
Due to some past updates to Google Chrome, we already mark every cookie set by Exceed and Social as `SameSite=None` to support our iframe embedding strategy. This approach will minimize the likelihood of impact. In testing, we’ve disabled third-party cookies in Chrome and haven't experienced any errors navigating our applications.
We are proactively reaching out to our clients that we suspect could be impacted by this change. We’ve also coached our Support team to be on the lookout for issues that might be related to this. If you experience any issues that you feel might be related, please reach out to Support to open a ticket so we can help you diagnose the issue promptly.
