Outline
Pages are an extremely flexible content type that lets you develop and deliver training documents, informative knowledge base articles, or engaging learning experiences. Page properties help control a users' experience with a page, allowing you to include things like a content outline, or remove things like a completion banner.
This article explores activity properties that let you customize the page experience for users.
Add a Page Outline
Enable the Page Outline property in a page's General > Display properties to add an outline of page content for users. Users can navigate the page by selecting the headers included in the page outline.
Page outlines are automatically generated from the header-styled text in the text and HTML components in your page - as seen below:
Smaller header styles are included at the top-level of the page outline if they are not proceeded by a larger header style.
Heads Up!
A page outline will not be seen if the page features no header-styled text
When sharing a page outline URL, it will direct a user to that specific section of the outline. Using this page as an example, if you were to share the "Remove page Completion Notification" outline URL, a user will be directed to that specific section when the URL is clicked.
Remove Page Completion Notification
Sometimes, it doesn’t make sense to show a completion banner or notification on a page. For example, the page might contain informational or knowledge base content. You may also want to hide the completion banner on pages that are used in custom navigation.
The Completion Notification property found in Enrollment properties disables the notification banner that displays when a user completes a Page.
Enable Mark as Complete
By default, a page auto-completes when a user reaches the end of the page.
The Mark as Complete property found in Enrollment properties offers users a more intentional completion action for your pages.
When enabled, users will find a Mark as Complete button at the end of the page. A user must interact with the button to complete the activity.
